Surgical Pet Services
How we help with common pet surgery procedures
We perform many pet surgeries at our clinic including routine spay and neuters and soft-tissue surgeries. Occasionally, we refer our patients to specialists (board-certified veterinary surgeons) to perform specialized surgeries.
When the unthinkable happens, you’ll want someone you can trust who has both the skills and the tools to help your pet feel better.
Surgical intervention can give your pet aid and comfort while reducing the risk of diseases and personality changes.
Once veterinary surgery is scheduled, it is natural to feel anxious. Rest assured, we understand the bond between pet and owner. We treat your pets as if they are our own.
Post-surgery can be an uncomfortable period. Your pet might feel drowsy over the next few days, but that special spark should reignite as they heal.
The most common pet surgeries include:
Spaying & Neutering
These surgical procedures prevent your pets from reproducing. Spaying involves the removal of the uterus and ovaries from female pets, while neutering involves the removal of a male pet’s testicles. There are numerous health benefits to these surgeries including preventing diseases and curbing risky behaviours like roaming and fighting. Spaying and neutering also greatly reduce the number of unplanned puppies and kittens ending up in animal shelters.
Please call or visit our facility to learn more about these procedures.
Soft tissue surgeries
Our skillful veterinarians perform soft tissue surgeries, which is any procedure not related to the bones. The most common procedure is the removal of masses and lumps. Certain lumps might require a biopsy before the removal to determine whether or not it is cancerous or benign. In the case of malignant (cancerous) tumours, early diagnosis and removal increase the chances of a good outcome.
